WHAT IS CALCIUM SULFATE

Calcium Sulfate or Sulfate Cal, is a natural mineral, organic and neutral compact rock shaped in different colors: white, gray or red are the most common found in some areas of our country.


Its chemical name is calcium sulfate dihydrate is equivalent to the formula CaSO4 + 2H2O, corresponding to two groups. The first is formed by ( Ca ) Calcium, ( S ) Sulfur and ( O) Oxygen. The second group ( H ) Hydrogen and ( O) Oxygen ( crystallized water ).


Usually extracted from open pits, with the help of machines or explosives. Its thickness is irregular, mineral quality and chemical composition varies according to the place of origin, depth and mineral hue.


Calcium Sulfate is a mineral that can adapt and mingle with a wide variety of products from different sources. Non-combustible, non-flammable, does not produce toxic gases, does not pollute, is odorless and has no expiration date.


Its use is diverse and hopefully will be increasingly more extensive for the behavior and the results being given in different fields of application, despite being a great unknown to most people and businesses.
